On My Bookshelf: Taming the Wind

I participated in a book tour for Taming the Wind (Land of the Lone Star).  Lately it seems like I’ve been reading a lot of these Christian romances.  To be honest, the cover of this book didn’t appeal to me.  I’m not a big fan of the romance genre in general. I’m glad that I took the chance on this one.  Taming the Wind was different in that it had a great deal of action (think cowboys and Indians) and the bond between the characters was sufficiently developed, which was able to balance out the romance factor.  I haven’t read the previous novels in this series.  Now I’m interested in trying those, too!   I also respected the amount of Christian themes that were included in the book.  The timing and setting was appropriate for the Scripture references and Biblical mentions.    Historical fiction is my favorite kind of book.  I haven’t really read very many books from this time period, though.  It was a nice change.

  1. I’ve actually seen this book recently as well, the cover caught my eye. This is a genre that I love, but I haven’t read the first two in the series either. Now after reading your review, I just might have to get my hands on a copy after all. Thanks for sharing 🙂
