When you’re a teenager, life’s ups and downs can feel like hurricane waves.  It’s hard to navigate those waters in the best of times, but when you’re being sucked under…everything feels doomed.  For Reagan Willis, life pounds all at the same time.  In the movie Alex & Me from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, teens get a positive message about hard work and sisterhood!

I liked that this movie features an “average” girl with above-average determination.  Reagan’s room, her clothing, and even her hairstyle looked like it belonged to a typical middle school teenager.  This is important to me as a parent and a teacher; I don’t want teens to think they have to grow up too fast.  Instead, Reagan’s personality is developed around her ambition and hard work ethics. It’s hard to get this message to stick with kids. I’m grateful that the movie helps to be this voice.

Additionally, Alex Morgan is such a delightful part of this movie.  Her winning smile brightens the screen, and she’s a positive role model for today’s generation.  It’s absolutely refreshing to see a movie that seeks to build up teens, not tear them down or teach them more swear words.  My 6th grade students love to read about their favorite athletes, so this movie will definitely reach fans of that genre.

After accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of world champion soccer star Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life. Everything changes!

Soccer superstar Alex Morgan scores her movie debut with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in the full-length feature film Alex & Me on Digital starting June 12, 2018 and Blu-ray™ & DVD on June 19, 2018. Also featuring Nickelodeon star Siena Agudong (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and the upcoming Star Falls), the film follows the uplifting story of a young female athlete who learns how you need passion, determination and self-worth to make all your dreams come true.

Born in beautiful Hawaii in 2004, Siena Agudong is paving her way in the entertainment industry at just 13 years old. She has captivated audiences through her performances, whether it be on stage or on screen. Her first break was in 2014 when Siena portrayed “Lulu Parker” through her recurring role on ABC’s Texas Ranger drama, “Killer Women”, which aired in early 2014. She has since been a steady guest star on Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn” as well as playing “Tiffany” in her recurring role on TVLand’s “Teachers”.

 With her love of theatre, she dominated the stage as the “Wicked Witch” in the “Wizard of Oz”. Her passion for acting has earned her several Young Entertainer and Young Artist Award nominations in 2015, 2016, and 2017! In spring 2017 she Won her nomination and was awarded “Best Guest Starring Young Actress 12 & Under”. Through her active lifestyle and ambition, she is a role model to all young girls. Most recently, Siena has wrapped filming for her starring role in “Star Falls” which premiered, March 31 on Nickelodeon. She will also amaze audiences in her debut Warner Brothers movie, “Alex and Me” starring alongside US soccer starlet Alex Morgan.
