I don’t ask for much. My house isn’t immaculate, and the kids don’t have to make straight A’s. Overall, I’m a live-and-let-live kind of person in most respects. So why in the world can’t everyone leave me alone when I’m reading an amazing book like An Anonymous Girl!
Alas, things had to be done — like eat, sleep, and make sure everyone got to school. The world didn’t stop, unfortunately, when I picked up this book, so it took me about 3 days to read it. The story stayed in my mind every moment, just whispering to me and making me a tiny bit crazy. It’s a psychological thriller in every way!
Speaking of crazy.
Get ready for a whopper of a diabolical character! You’ll sit there shaking your head, wondering how in the world?!
As with the author duo’s previous bestselling novel, The Wife Between Us, it’s better if you don’t know about the plot. Go into the book blind.
I appreciated that An Anonymous Girl was pretty clean. It doesn’t get its fireworks from excessive profanity or detailed sex scenes.
Throughout the chapters, it’s impossible not to question your own beliefs and morality when thinking about these characters. I found myself trying to align with one character, then another…justifying and rationalizing behaviors.
It’s tough not to pit one book against another when you go in with such high expectations. I devoured The Wife Between Us just a few days ago, and it was in the back of my mind while I read An Anonymous Girl. Happily, I found that this one was different enough to hold its own, yet contained the same type of energy and thrills. I liked The Wife a bit better, but overall this one was a winner. They did it again, folks! This pair will forever be an automatic “Submit Order” click for me.
Do you enjoy suspenseful books?
(An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen @StMartinsPress #AnAnonymousGirl) This book must be good Dede if you read it in three days. I love books like that when you just can’t put them down. Now I want to read this too. 🙂
This sounds like my kind of read! I think that you make a good point about going into this one blind. Sometimes the synopsis can give away half the story. I haven’t read any of this author’s books, but I am excited to try this one since it affected you so much.

I love psychological thrillers! They keep you guessing and double guessing yourself until you reach the end!
This is going on my Goodreads shelf as want to read!
Thank you for sharing!
Interesting a slightly scary. Thanks for the share, never heard of this one honestly
Overall, a creepy suspenseful tale of a young woman who lies her way into a psychological study on morality. A shift occurs when the study is seemingly over and a game of cat and mouse involving lies and infidelity occurs. Consistent for the most part with some unexpected twists yet an unsurprising end.
