Welcome to the blog tour for Of Breakable Things. I feel like saying “Nanny nanny boo boo” for getting to read this book before the general public because, well, it’s just that brag-worthy. First of all, let’s talk about the cover. It’s just amazing and instantly got my attention. There’s a little bit of a creepy factor because those eyes are simply spellbinding!!! Of Breakable Things has a beautiful rhythm yet retains the spunky flair of a young adult novel. By mixing mythology with an extra dose of suspense, then sprinkling some perilous journeys on top, author A. Lynden Rolland has a recipe for success. In the spirit of Harry Potter, Of Unbreakable Things creates a fascinating world that’s so well-described that it’s easy to envision. Trust, love, and deepest friendship are the backbone of the plot. I really enjoyed the mystery of this book, as well as the story within a story that helps to give the adventure more depth.
My heart instantly cried out for Alex from the first few pages. Maybe it was the teacher in me, relating to Miss Petra and all. While reading Of Breakable Things, I found myself going back and making myself take slower bites. This is one of those books that expects the reader to savor the words and emotions. If you rush yourself through this book, you’ve wasted those calories. Go back and enjoy it a little more. You’ll understand my surprise when I found out that this is Rolland’s debut novel. It certainly hints of even greater things to come.

A captivating debut about the fragility of life, love, and perspective.
Alex Ash was born broken. Living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is like living on death row, but she is willing to fight for her frail life as long as it includes the boy next door. Chase has always held the pieces of her together, but when he dies tragically, Alex’s unfavorable fate becomes a blessing in disguise.
Faced with a choice, she finds herself in a peculiar world where rooms can absorb emotions and secrets are buried six feet under. Among limitless minds, envious spirits, and soulless banshees, Alex hardly rests in peace
A. Lynden Rolland was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, a picturesque town obsessed with boats and blue crabs. She has always been intrigued by the dramatic and the broken, compiling her eccentric tales of tragic characters in a weathered notebook she began to carry in grade school. She is a sports fanatic, a coffee addict, and a lover of Sauvignon Blanc, thunderstorms and autumn leaves. When she isn’t hunched behind a laptop at her local bookstore, she can be found chasing her two vivacious children. She now resides just outside Annapolis with her husband and young sons.
The tragedy of lost life added to this poor girls already frail body sounds like an emotional story. It will be interesting to see how each character is written. I have to say he title captivated me, but the cover itself is attention grabbing. I agree with you…creepy and hauntingly beautiful.
I loved your review, the way you play with words in such a beautiful way, made it a interesting read and made me want to read this book and loved the fact that leading character Alex has EDS and though it is her story, her struggle but it will find resonance in all the people suffering from autonomic disorder.
