Today I got the news that “Chief” Perkins passed away. He was the minister at the small church I walked to as a child. He was 95 years old when he passed! Chief was always so kind to me. He gave me a $2 bill for my birthday each year (as he did with all the children). When I moved away for college, he and his wife sent me cards occasionally with $5 and a note to get a Big Mac. Hearing that he passed gave my heart joy because I can only imagine what he’s doing right now in heaven! His was a life well lived.

I love finding out the behind-the-scenes story about books, movies, and songs. This movie is a tremendous testimony to the way God moves mountains! It would make a wonderful Father’s Day gift for someone special. I’m grateful that Chief, and other godly men like him, were in my life to provide spiritual guidance during my childhood.
