Disclosure: I received this ARC free through a blog tour. Opinions shared are mine.
There are only 2 days left in The Innocence Treatment book tour, but don’t worry! If you don’t win, you can also enter to win my ARC. It’s really a fantastic book for those who like dystopian, sci-fi, or teen/YA novels. It’s also very timely in terms of current events. Here’s why….
HALLOWEEN
A critical part of the story takes place on October 30. Perfect timing, right? Lauren and her friends attend a Halloween-themed birthday party that is the height of excess. It may make you rethink that extra set of pumpkins you wanted to buy for the front porch.
GOVERNMENT
It wouldn’t be a decent dystopian without having a sinister government to hate. With all of the political controversy that’s going on in the news (literally, all the time) this book points a dozen fingers at Big Brother.
EXPERIMENTAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Who isn’t a little scared of experimental tests and procedures? While medical research is a necessary part of developing technology, there are so many conflicts and controversies that erupt with these new ideas. An ever-changing scope of ethics is just the eye of the storm. The Innocence Treatment makes the reader wonder, “Could ignorance actually be better?”
I thought The Innocence Treatment was an invigorating read! It kept me wondering who, or what, to believe. Social structure may seem like a necessary evil in modern society, but at what cost? You’ll have to read the book to find out. One lucky reader will receive my ARC copy of The Innocence Treatment. The giveaway is open to US/CAN readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
I love the mystery/thriller genre. I love Agatha Christie and Hitchcock.
My favorite dystopian theme is the post-apocalyptic.
I love apocalyptic books, and I’m not really a fan of romance books.
