STEAM is one of the biggest buzzwords in education right now. You might also see variations of this idea, such as STEM or STREAM. This ideology incorporates high-interest learning tasks with technology skills such as coding or investigating science concepts. During the summer months, it can be a challenge to keep kids engaged in these activities. Apps like Nancy Drew Codes & Clues are a good solution to the summer learning loss problem.
In one of the reading workshops I attended this school year, the speaker presented statistics about summer learning loss. According to the research, students can lose up to 3 months of learning during the summer months. Thankfully, Ryan’s and other Ovation Brands restaurants have a plan to help you combat that problem. Through May 25, you can find educational activities during the Family Night events at participating restaurants. Click here to find an Ovations Brand restaurant near you.
Our school offers 1-to-1 technology for students, meaning each student has a school-provided laptop (or Chromebook) to use at home and at school. This initiative enabled us to introduce students to concepts like coding. It’s been amazing to see how quickly children pick up on these ideas!

I absolutely loved Nancy Drew as a kid!
Nancy Drew books were my favorite when I was a tween. This brings back some memories.
