In my family, we really didn’t have many traditions. The few traditions we did hold dear mostly centered around Christmas. We went to my grandmother’s house for a Christmas gathering every year. Santa always brought stockings, no matter how little we had that year. I love a good family tradition, especially when it revolves around Christmas. So it was a no-brainer that I’d like Quilted by Christmas from the Quilts of Love series!
The main character in Quilted by Christmas is a strong-willed, independent woman named Taryn. In Taryn’s family, a new bride is always given a hand-stitched quilt. While she admires the quilts, she does not aspire to be a bride. She’s far too tough for that. Behind her teacher demeanor, though, Taryn had a broken heart with lots of scar tissue. Every character in this beautiful story has something to offer. Learning from one’s mistakes is a tough pill to swallow. Throughout the story, there’s a gentle reminder of God’s grace and forgiveness. This story would be great to read with a teenage daughter. The book is quilted with threads of life, love, and all that gets mixed up with it.
