Welcome to the ROCKtoberfest giveaway hop hosted by Cheap Is The New Classy and Eat Play Rock. I hope you’ll take the time to check out all of the rockin’ giveaways going on in this event! We just got back from a long weekend trip and enjoyed listening to these 2 new award-winning CDs we received for review. The music inspires a hauntingly cool way of looking at the fairy tale world. Do you want to take a peek into the world, too?
The first thing you’ll notice with these CDs is the extremely eccentric music. They’re not really musicals. Instead, they are more like a book-on-tape story set to music. If you enjoy visualizing scenes in your mind, you’ll have a blast with artist Lisa Sniderman’s music. “Love Is A Fairy Tale” sends Aoede the Muse on a journey to find love. It features many fantasy creatures such as goblins and such. In “What Are Dreams Made Of?” the story turned a bit darker as Aoede finds herself caught in a bad dream. We didn’t listen to this series all in one sitting because the story got to be somewhat complicated as we listened. Instead, we listened to a few minutes at a time then discussed what we heard. The basic story gave us a lot of topics of conversation including how to compliment someone, when it’s appropriate to joke around, and how to deal with challenging situations. I would love to see these stories in an animated cartoon. It was a bit difficult to follow the story just by listening to it, especially for my children. However, having the illustrated version was helpful in showing my kids what the characters might look like. I’d love to see the animation brought to it!
One lucky winner will receive 2 CDs. The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
I enjoyed the music I listen to – was interesting – I learned that “Aoede’s new musical story What Are Dreams Made Of? (Sep 24, 2013) just received a 2013 Preferred Choice Award-Kids CD Category from Creative Child Magazine”
I think music is wonderful for all people to open minds to learn and to enjoy

She has some very impressive awards. One thing on her resume that caught me: “LA Music Award’s 2012 Children’s Album of the Year: “Is Love A Fairy Tale?” Nominated for 2012 LA Music Awards HOT AC Artist of the Year, Female Singer-Songwriter and Record of the Year”
Thank you all! Appreciate the review and your comments-and feel free to check out the new album website: as well as a new Hidden Objects Game on Is Love A Fairy Tale? it is fun for the kid in all of us!!
