After buying our RV last summer, my husband and I have imagined life on the road. We’re looking forward to traveling around the country during our retirement years. Though it’s a different mode of transport, Sail Cowabunga! described an ambitious family’s ten years at sea. The adventures are fun to read about, and they just might inspire you to take a trip of your own.
Color photos grace the middle pages of this book, providing such an intimate look at the treasured moments of this family’s journey. It’s so neat to see The Shack, and to have a true image of the Cowabunga home front. Since I’ve never gone sailing, the glossary in the back of the book was helpful.
Author Janis Couvreux writes as if she’s sharing these memories with an old friend. It’s similar to reading a missionary’s newsletter. She also includes the scary moments of her experience, such as finding out that the kids had been snorkeling near a crocodile habitat!
Whether you’re dreaming of faraway lands or prefer to live through the pages of a good book, enter this giveaway for a chance to win Sail Cowabunga! The contest is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
