The only hope for my children’s baby books

I am embarrassed to admit that neither of my kids has a completed baby book.  I actually completed one for my daughter but it was ruined when a bottle of hand sanitizer spilled on it.  Unfortunately, I never got around to making another one.  My son never even had a chance; all of his baby pictures are still on the computer or on the camera.   I used to do the whole scrapbook thing with the fun papers and special cutters…..once upon a time.  My child-friendly house wasn’t conducive to scrapbook sessions and I found myself stuffing it all in closets.  Imagine my shame when I visited my BFF’s house and discovered her beautiful shelf of scrapbooks.  One per child PLUS special books for their family vacations!!  Then she shared her secret—she does it all digitally.  I had never heard of such a thing!  She explained how she uses scrapbook software to purchase a layout online, adds the pages and text, then has the pages printed so she can just slide them into her scrapbook.  I am telling you, the pages did NOT look digital at all.  There was beautiful depth to the photos and details.  I was so surprised!!   I knew I had to learn more about this magic.

I ordered the MyMemories suite and immediately downloaded it. It was super easy to order….just entered my information and then went to “My Downloads” page.  Click and go!   Use code STMMMS70069 to save $10 on your order.  They gave me this promo code to share with my family, friends, and readers. By using this code at MyMemories.com, you can get $10 off My Memories Suite (you get it for $29.95 instead of $39.95) AND you also get a $10 gift certificate to use in their online store!  I am not kidding!

While it’s downloading, be sure to peruse all the cool layouts.  I have pictures that will look perfect with several of these packs.  I can’t wait to get started!  I saw on the website that they have a freebie every Friday.  I’ll definitely be checking that out!  Follow MyMemories on Facebook to get the updates on freebies and other new products.  I know what you’re thinking…..like I need one more thing to get obsessed about?!  Although I’ll admit this site looks like it could really get addictive (read: timesucker like Pinterest) I think the productivity level will be a huge payoff.  After all, rather than pinning a bunch of pictures of stuff I’ll never ever make, I could actually MAKE a product with MyMemories.  So that way my husband doesn’t think I sit at the computer all night for absolutely no reason.

Don’t believe me?  Check out MyMemories and tell me which layouts you’d use right away.   I know you have pictures sitting around on your computer waiting to be blinged out.  You don’t have to use this software just for scrapbooks, either.    You can use it to make a beautiful personalized photo, frame it, and voila!  Valentine’s Day in just a few clicks!    Think about the great Mother’s Day gifts you could create with MyMemories.

Here are a couple of quickies I made, just playing around.

Just change the template by clicking.  It’s so easy!!

It’s really similar to using Microsoft Word or a similar program.  I was able to change text by clicking in the box, drag the backgrounds and pictures around, and enlarge just by clicking on the sides.

Personally, I’m thinking that this will come in super handy when your child needs help with a project at school.   I can’t even count the number of expensive trips I’ve made to the craft store to load up on supplies like paper, foam stickers, and embellishments.  When scrapbook paper is selling for 50 to 75 cents per sheet, that gets very pricey.

You know that personal timeline that your kid has to make EVERY SINGLE YEAR when she starts school?   Easy as pie, just add in some new photos and you’re finished.

I’m curious to see if I could print out one of these during the frequent Walgreens free 8×10 sales.  Wouldn’t that be an inexpensive fancy-schmancy photo to frame?   I have paid the big bucks for the “collage” prints at Olan Mills. No more!

The best thing about MyMemories is that everything you need is available at the click of a mouse!  Your child can get creative and you can stay in your PJ’s.  That is a perfect world, my friends.

One lucky reader will win a download of the MyMemories software in the Handmade From the Heart giveaway (Feb. 14-28).  Be sure to enter!

  5. I only had 1 baby scrap book completed for my 1st child, that’s because digital camera wasn’t the trend then. With my 2 other kids, most pics are just sitting on my computer. I am gonna check out MyMemories too. 🙂

This is wonderful. I haven’t completed my son’s either and I really ashamed to admit it. But it is never too late! I still have a lot of memories and pics and could complete one and give it to him as a wedding gift or something similar. Thank you so much for the kick in the pants I need to get this done and much easier and nicer than how I started!

  8. Wow – I didn’t realize there is scrapbook software- neato! I got a chuckle because someone was showing me their kids baby books – 3 kids. The first was chock full, the second child, much less, and the last had hardly any. By the time she was managing three little boys, she didn’t have time!
