It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to sign up for 2020 activities, but here we are! I’ve participated in host Angel’s Guilty Pleasures Library Love challenge for the past couple of years. It helps me to save money on my TBR books, plus encourages me to support my local libraries. My kids enjoy visiting the library as much as I do.
Big thanks to Angel’s Guilty Pleasures & Books of My Heart for hosting the challenge!
There are some exciting changes with the 2020 challenge. A big one is that there will be a monthly giveaway for challenge participants! The great news is that you don’t have to be a blogger to take part. You can add your Goodreads reviews to participate. There’s a minimum of 2 sentences, and they can be very basic. It’s SO EASY to do this, and it’s a great way to support authors.
I frequently link up to my Goodreads review instead of posting the review on Savings in Seconds, since I already have so many book reviews on the blog. Here are a few examples.
I’ve tried a few Shari Lapena books, always with high hopes and usually feeling a bit let down. An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena was generally unfulfilling until the final lines. Here’s my Goodreads review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3055330915
I wavered back and forth with my star rating on The French Girl by Lexie Elliott. It was on my TBR list for 2 years. Did it meet up to my expectations? Find out in my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2235361476
YA Novels are a gamble for me. Sometimes I really love the story, even with teenage main characters. The Fever by Megan Abbott missed the mark. I expected to really like Tom, the father in the story, in an Emily Giffin kind of way. Nope. Overall, this book was a bust for me. I was so glad I got it from the library instead of paying for it. I hope you’ll join the 2020 Library Love challenge and share your thoughts on books!
Love a good read from the library of love. One of these and a cuppa tea and I am set to relax.
