Nomance Book — is Romance in the Air?

I can’t believe it’s already Valentine’s Day. It feels like we just celebrated New Year’s! Romance novels are okay sometimes, but I generally prefer suspense and thrillers with romance only in the background if the plot is super engaging. Maybe I should start a Nomance Goodreads shelf.

The River Jewel: A Letter Series Novella by Kathleen Shoop

A few days ago, I finished listening to Where the Crawdads Sing audiobook. It was way outside of my ‘normal’ genre, yet it was fabulous! The River Jewel by Kathleen Shoop reminded me of that book in some ways.

THE FIFTH AVENUE STORY SOCIETY by Rachel Hauck #StorySocTour

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

Rachel Hauck is one of my favorite romance authors because she always builds such a terrific plot. The romantic sideline tends to be part of the background instead of the major story line. I love her books! I’m so excited to be part of the blog tour for her new title, The Fifth Avenue Story Society.

One lucky reader will win a copy of the book!

Do you prefer Sterling Silver or Gold Earrings?

Are you a gold or silver person? All of the little beauty quizzes I’ve ever taken told me that gold looks best with my skin tone. However, I generally choose silver. It’s just a personal preference.

He Reads Truth Bible #HeReadsTruth #Lifeway

A few days ago, my son and I were in a doctor’s office waiting room. He spied a Bible on the side table and asked if we could read it together. I was mildly surprised since he’s never asked that question before, and I realized that it’s been a long time since I asked him to read with me. We sat together reading Genesis, and he asked me several questions. I really enjoyed those moments of fellowship with him. When we got home, my husband suggested that we give him the He Reads Truth Bible. It might be a bit advanced for him right now (11 years old) but he will definitely grow into it.

What I Want You to See by Catherine Linka

Contrary to my overflowing book stashes, I am not a book collector. Once I finish reading a book, I quickly pass it on to someone else like a hot potato. It’s so fun to think about who would “need” to read the book next. When I read What I Want You to See, it immediately made me think of my daughter. The artsy vibes rang true, but the strength of Sabine’s determination and drive made me want to share this book with the most important young woman in my life.

Fairy Mom and Me: Unicorn Wishes by Sophie Kinsella

When my daughter was in early elementary school, she was an advanced reader. It was hard to find books that challenged her at an appropriate level, yet contained content that met my conservative approval. I think she would have loved this series by Sophie Kinsella!

At the Savings in Seconds home, our pets are the furry delights that make our house cozy. I’m pretty sure one of our cats moonlights at a neighbor’s house during the week because he is very chunky, even though we’ve tried to put him on a diet. He looks a lot like Pusheen, actually. Our other cat is doesn’t travel far from home, but he’s such a fluffy baby. Here are some of our cats’ favorite items!

The Way We All Became The Brady Bunch by Kimberly Potts

With so many remakes and spin offs on TV today, you can’t help but reminisce about the good ole days. My son loves Fuller House, and has developed quite a background for all things 80s. He even knew who NKOTB was because of one of the episodes!

Let’s travel even further back in our Time Machine to the Brady Bunch. Full of great stories and era-worthy references, The Way We All Became The Brady Bunch by Kimberly Potts is sure to garner a smile from any 70’s or 80’s baby. This wholesome show tackled lots of tough family issues including sibling rivalry, blended families, and growing up. Everyone had a crush on one of the Brady kids, and I wanted Alice to live with us.
