Odd Numbers by JJ Marsh #OddNumbers #Netgalley

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review. Opinions shared are mine.

I listened to the audio of this book. With 5 different characters switching back and forth, the audio helped to keep straight who was speaking. The narrators did a good job, so that helped to carry my rating from a 2 to a 3.

It’s been a big year for us, what with our daughter finishing up high school, and she has some understandable anxiety about the anticipation of college. Spouse in the House by Cynthia Ruchti & Becky Melby #giveaway

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book for review. Opinions shared are mine.

The summer of 2020 changed things for our family. My husband had an unexpected offer to move closer to the area where the kids and I were already commuting for work/school. It meant that we could be together as a family throughout the week, something we hadn’t been able to do for about 10 years. My husband was used to working 24/7 and could now take some time off in the evenings, weekends, and even the occasional vacation day. What a blessing! He started a major carpentry project that took over the living room and porch of our new home. We’re still in the thick of it, 8 months later. While it was charming and cute when he started the project, I’m ready for him to wrap up the bookshelves!

The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady by Sharon J. Mondragon #giveaway

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book for review. Post contains affiliate links; if you make a purchase, I may earn commission. Opinions shared are mine.

During the Covid lockdown, my daughter and I learned how to crochet. We enjoyed many hours sitting side by side, creating simple projects such as a cat sweater (haha) and a small blanket for the dog. I love the peaceful repetition of crochet. It’s soothing yet productive. The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady centers on a group of knitters who put their skills to good use. It’s a God thing when their knitting becomes the open door to change.

A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins #ASlowFireBurning

If Paula Hawkins wrote it, sign me up. I have loved all 3 of her books. After I rated A Slow Fire Burning (4 stars), I checked to see what I rated In the Water (5 stars). I still think I prefer A Slow Fire Burning just a little bit more! I highly recommend the audiobook version which features the brilliant Rosamund Pike as the narrator. Thanks to Libro.fm for providing me with a copy!
