Recently, I started helping with the toddlers at church during the Sunday School hour. It’s so much fun. If you haven’t volunteered in that area, I highly encourage you to do so! The imagination and adorable antics that toddlers come up with…..it’s enchanting. I can’t wait to take the Baby, Baby board book with me to church next week! The kids will love it.
Why do I love this book, you ask? Here are 3 simple reasons.
1. The actions described in the book make it so easy for little ones to play along. They won’t be able to resist seeing what’s on the next page. It’s perfect for those tots who have a hard time paying attention to an entire book.
2. The illustrations show a diverse selection of babies. Asian babies, African-American babies, Caucasian babies, and others seem to be equally represented. Both boys and girls are displayed throughout the text. The only thing I wish the book showed — babies with special needs. It would have been nice to see babies with feeding tubes, a Down Syndrome child, or even a baby with a cast.
3. The last page has a mirror on it, with the caption “God loves __________.” What a sweet chance for Baby to hear that she’s loved by God! I absolutely adore this page because I know that the kids at church will enjoy reading it.
