When I was asked to select a couple of items from Lane Bryant’s new arrival section, I looked specifically for things I’d wear in my classroom. The fit and flare maxi dress is perfect for any professional event, from teaching to parent conference day!
I’m a short 5’2″ (almost) and got the dress in size 14/16. It’s a pull-over dress, so it’s super easy to grab and go in the morning! Thankfully the built in lining means there’s no bleary-eyed search for a slip.
The back of the dress gives a nice silhouette. I love the gentle stretch of the waist; it’s perfect for those days when pants just don’t work.
My bustline tends to get dwarfed by my stomach at times. On this dress, a smocked waist and bust darts help to create a fitted look, while the flowy skirt has just enough twirl factor. I appreciate the way it slenderizes instead of pointing out flaws! During the early weeks of the school year, we often leave before daylight and come home in the dark. I’m dreaming of time spent in the sun!
