Our family really enjoyed walking in Chattanooga, Tennessee during our visit last fall. On our arrival night, we found a parking garage and just enjoyed a lovely stroll in this unique city.
We also loved the views. The Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge connects downtown to the North Shore area, so you can easily get from Point A to Point B…..but it might take you a while to walk over this mile-long bridge! We walked over the bridge, then strolled through beautiful Coolidge Park.
There are so many lovely things to see while you’re walking in Chattanooga! We enjoyed the quirky things like this brick piano. Of course, my kids had to stop and pound out a tune!
Pay attention to the ground, too. There are dance steps in the sidewalk! They’re really fun to follow. I just enjoyed looking for them around town!
After all that walking, the kids talked us into stopping at Clumpies for ice cream. Funny name for an ice cream shop, right? It was in a beautiful old building. I loved the wood floors, high ceilings, and overall charm of this place.
There are shirts, hats, and other Clumpies goodies for sale; be sure to check out the side wall. A souvenir is always nice!
Unfortunately, I did not get to take any pictures of the actual ice cream my kids got. I spent the entire time waiting in line for the single restroom! The menu looked great, though. Look at these unique flavor options!
We can’t wait to visit Chattanooga again. There are so many spots that we missed last time.
We have been to parts of TN but not Chattanooga, we want to plan a vacation soon.
Aww this looks awesome! I have been to Tennessee- actually, now that I think of it, I think I spent the night once in Chattanooga, but only very briefly. I did spend a couple days in Knoxville once and that was lovely! But it looks like you all had a great time, thanks for sharing it with us!
You can’t go wrong with some ice cream! When we visit my sister in Alabama, I always make a point to stop at Steele City Pops. They have such a great variety of popsicle flavors!
Whats better n icecream n camping? Love to go to Tennesse and explore new places.
We’ve never been to Chattanooga but we are so excited for ice cream season nightly strolls!
The brick piano is such a unique piece. Love how it looks and how well it fits in!
Trying out those dance steps would be fun to wear off some of those ice cream calories for me
Never been to Chattanooga, just sang the song about it.
Looks lovely. We are going to disney world this year and planned to stop and stay in Chattanooga since it is halfway for us.
(Walking in Chattanooga, Tennessee – Clumpies ice cream) It’s been many years since I visited Chattanooga, Tennessee, I think it was in the late seventies the last time I was there.
Love walking through a city, endless possibilities for happening upon quirky sites like these. Gotta try that hazenlnut praline ice cream when I’m in town!
I’ve never been there but it looks like a beautiful city.
I love walking tours. It really lets you take in the city at your own pace. This one in Chattanooga looks fun.
