Good Chinese food is hard to find. When we’re ready for a hot mess of noodles, beef and broccoli, and yummy brown sauce, our family has two favorites. The first is a buffet in Church Hill which isn’t very convenient for a busy night. More often, my husband stops by China King on his way home from work. We rejoice at the sight of the take-out bag and a good sized container of won-ton soup. When you drive up to China King, it’s just your average strip mall Chinese restaurant.  There’s nothing really special about the exterior.  I’m not even sure how we found its goodness.  Probably my husband stopped there in desperation one evening after work when I called him with the heartfelt plea, “PLEASE pick up something for supper on the way home.”  He entered these doors and found utter glory in the wire-handled to-go boxes.  If you’re headed to Bristol Motor Speedway for the race, treat yourself to a meal at China King.

The eggrolls are heaven sent.  We usually share a few of these on the side.  They have the perfect amount of crispy crunch mixed with lots of veggies.  YUM!

 My favorite entree is the chicken lo mein, to which I always add a good bit of broccoli in brown sauce. Delish.  Unfortunately those didn’t get photographed because I forgot all about the post by the time I opened the noodle box.

Typically we get China King as a to-go order, but they do have tables inside the restaurant. China King is located in the Crown Plaza in Blountville, TN.  The tiny storefront is squeezed in next to the Dollar Store.   It’s a great meal for a busy night. Pick a few family favorites to share and enjoy. When you go, be sure to tell them Savings in Seconds sent you!
