We have a small home, and there isn’t an office space at all. My “desk” is the recliner or sometimes the dining room table. Lucky for me, the laptop is portable!
When I ordered this desk pad, for some reason I expected it to be firm and sturdy. It came rolled up poster-style in a tube, which puzzled me. Then I realized it’s more of a desk mat than a pad.
I unfurled the roll and discovered a GIANT desk mat. It stretched all the way across the recliner and then some! Though it’s very long, the mat isn’t too wide. It’s shown here with my small Chromebook.
It definitely needs to be used on a flat, sturdy surface like a table or countertop. The good news — it can transform those spaces into a pseudo-desk. You can put your cup of coffee on it without worrying about damaging the table. Place it on top of the unsightly water spot on your old desk. You can even use it to protect countertops and coffee tables.
Though it’s large, it’s definitely lightweight. You could easily take this with you when commuting. I plan to take mine with me to the campground where I sometimes use cracked wooden picnic tables or stone benches as a desk. The desk pad will provide a barrier from water and other potential computer invaders. If you have unsightly furniture, consider masking flaws with this desk pad.
This is such a great utility item. Looks like a great deskpad too…love the look
Wow, that’s a creative solution, never thought of doing that myself. Gonna give it a try as I’m also struggling with space!
