You won’t be surprised AT ALL that I suggest giving books for Christmas! If you have a tween girl on your gift list, I highly recommend the Dork Diaries series. These books are very popular with my 6th grade students. It’s similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid in style; the story is told through doodles and comic strips. This is a great series for kids who enjoy the Smile series by Raina Telgemeier, too.
I love that Dork Diaries is the new Family Night theme at Ovation Brands’ portfolio of restaurants. You’re probably familiar with these buffets — Old Country Buffet, Ryan’s, Hometown Buffet, Country Buffet, and Furr’s Fresh Buffet. On Thursday nights, customers can enjoy a delicious meal and a family night activity!
The Dork Diaries family theme runs on Thursday nights between 5 pm and 8 pm November 29 through January 3. As a bonus, kids eat for just $1.99 from 4 pm to close with the purchase of a regular price adult or senior meal. What a bargain, especially when you consider activities are involved!
