We’ve spent many hours on the baseball field over the summer. I love being out in the sunshine, especially when I have a cold drink and some peanut M & M’s to enjoy! I almost always take a book with me so I have something to do while the teams are warming up. Fallen by Linda Castillo was the first book I’ve read in the Kate Burkholder series. I loved it and will definitely read the others!
I stayed up until 3 a.m. to finish Fallen; it was THAT good. The story takes place in a small town where the Amish and Englisch regularly interact (sometimes not in good ways). The story is really interesting and high-suspense. There are lots of potential triggers, so be aware of that. Graphic violence, sexual assault, and teen alcohol use are regularly mentioned. Be aware that it is not a Christian Amish story. There is a lot of profanity, which I wish wasn’t there…it’s a personal preference.
One aspect of the book that I really liked — Kate and her immediate law enforcement team are really decent. It’s nice to see the police in a positive light these days.
Thanks to Minotaur Books for sending me a copy of Fallen!
Sounds like a nice book
Looks like an interesting book.
