Men and women in uniform display their sacrifices in their very clothing. By wearing the military, police, firefighter, or other uniform, they’re showing their enduring commitment to serve and protect those in need. Sometimes they do this by putting aside their own family’s needs. My dad, and both stepdads served in the army. My grandfather was in the navy. All of these men braved their fears to serve our country. One of my favorite movies involving a uniformed officer was Fireproof.

Recently I was talking with some friends about the movie War Room (which our family LOVES). I mentioned the Fireproof movie, and my friends said that they haven’t seen it. It’s one of those movies that has stayed in my heart because I so admire the life lessons taught through the story. It goes beyond the call of duty and extends deeper into the depths of a marriage going up in smoke. Fighting a fire doesn’t seem as daunting as honoring vows sometimes. This movie has a really powerful, positive message, and I want to share it with one of you.
