With the holidays officially in full swing, you might find yourself playing host to out-of-town visitors. We don’t actually have a guest room in our home, so we do musical-beds when family comes to stay with us. Getting our house ready for guests takes some effort, but it’s worth it when we enjoy those great memory moments! Here are some tips to help you get through the visitor frenzy.

Start With a Good Mattress

If you’ve ever slept on a sub-par mattress, you know the glory that is a good mattress! Sleep doesn’t come easy when you are pinched for room, poked in the back by a stray coil, or nearly touching the floor in three places. Investing in a good mattress is a gift to your guests. In my opinion, any guest room mattress should be one you would sleep on yourself.

Not all mattresses are alike, just like no two sleepers are exactly alike. Sleepiphany ensures your very best sleep because you can personalize the feel of your mattress!

With dozens of different kinds of mattresses on the market, it’s hard to decide which to order without laying on them. With Sleepiphany, you can get them all and pick the feel that’s right for you! Our layered mattress features unprecedented side-by-side adjustability and a relatable, patent-pending design — empowering you to take control of your sleep and change your life.

Layer the Bedding

Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to sheets and blankets. Start with the basics and set an extra folded blanket or two off to the side. I like bamboo sheets because they’re so soft and smooth. Bamboo sheets tend to be affordable, too. As for blankets, a lightweight fluffy comforter makes a bed look cozy and warm! Add a few pillows in different styles and shapes to finish off the look. Some guests will bring their own pillows, but it’s nice to have a few extra on hand in case someone requests more than one.

Pampering Products

Welcome your guests with a small basket of pampering products. This could include a couple of water bottles and pre-packaged snacks, a pair of earplugs, and a sleep mask. If you’re feeling extra-hostessy, throw in some toiletry items. Small containers of lotion and soap can be found at any bath and body store. This way, your guest won’t feel forced to use the family’s shower products.
