Yeah, this year is different. We’ve all said so many times, “2020 is weird.” Not all of the differences have to be bad, though. I realized a few weeks ago that I’m saving a small fortune on not buying lipstick! Last year I was obsessed with Lipsense, which lasts a long time but can be pricey. This year, I’ve barely gone through a tube. So yay for extra Christmas gifts money!
Your coronavirus savings might not come from lipstick, but I bet it’s there somewhere. Maybe it’s the gas money you used to spend on weekend trips, or possibly in the movie tickets you used to buy every few weeks. Whatever it is, take this opportunity to turn your savings into a holiday gift or two. I have some recommendations that won’t break the bank!
Beautiful bracelets are always in season and on trend. Go with colorful beads and bangles, or personalize with a favorite photo. Luca + Danni has Handcrafted in the USA jewelry that is sure to put a sparkle in your loved one’s eye — they’ll even include a free handwritten note with any order, so you can send your gifts directly to the lucky recipient. I especially love their Cardinal Collection. Note that personalized items should be ordered by 12/13 for Christmas delivery.
You can have all the patience in the world, and you probably still gave up your last nerve around March 15. Meanwhile, the children of the world have brains buzzing with, “Why?” A couple of books from National Geographic Kids just might buy you a little more time to drink your coffee.
Someone on your gift list misses her manicures? Order a set of Color Street nail stickers from a local consultant! I started buying these in the spring and they’re terrific! They come in so many shades and patterns — I’m wearing the French Manicure in the photo above — and they last pretty long, too. My manicure usually lasts 10-14 days, and my pedicure lasts at least a month. (I apply a layer of regular clear nail topcoat.) The best part is I don’t have to worry about the polish smudging when I inevitably bump something before it dries! I can get 2 manicures from one pack of stickers. Each pack runs about $11 retail, but ask your consultant if she’s offering any specials. I can usually find them for around $7.50 a pack. Buy a few as gifts and keep a couple for yourself!
Where have you saved money since the pandemic started? How do you plan to use that savings?
