Although a trip to the Mediterranean region isn’t in my near future, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a Dead Sea moment right at home. Mud masks are a great way to absorb toxins that could be affecting the skin. I have oily skin that tends to devevlop blemishes with any hormone shift. I thought I was done with all of that years ago, but NO! When InstaNatural sent me the skin cleansing Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask, it was a great opportunity to clean out the pores and start fresh.
This mask is a big mess to apply. The mud feels very slippery and smooth (not at all like the mud clay that we have around here.) It was hilarious to see my kids’ reactions to the mud mask. I teased them and said that I might wear it when picking them up from school. Seriously, though, in the 10 minutes that it took for the mask to dry, things changed quite a bit. My skin hasn’t felt that firm in years! Although the directions said that I could wear the mask for 10-15 minutes, I was ready to get it off after 10 minutes. It came off easily with water but was very messy. I went through two washcloths to get it completely off. I would suggest applying the mask in the morning, then jumping into the shower to wash it off. I’m not ready to try the whole body mask yet, although the website says that the mask can soothe pain and tired muscles. My feet might need that! On the InstaNatural blog, they suggest using the mud on a specific spot or blemish if needed. I love that idea! The beneficial minerals found in this mask seem to be helpful to the skin. It also claims to improve fine lines and wrinkles when used on a regular basis. Because it’s so easy to apply and remove, it’s definitely something I could fit into my beauty regimen.
After using the mask, my skin desperately needed a moisturizer. It felt tightened and clean but I was afraid that it would be dry if I waited too long. I applied the Youth Express Eye Serum from InstaNatural all over my eye area. As you’ll remember from my eye serum review, InstaNatural made a big difference in my right eye. (As you can see, the results lasted through the mud mask, although my mascara didn’t!) This time, I devoted some attention to my left eye!
The formula had a floral-citrus scent. It was dispensed out of a dropper, so I felt that I had to really be sparing with it. That ended up being a good thing because a little goes a long way. The serum absorbed immediately; if applied in the morning, I wouldn’t have to wait to put on makeup afterwards. The eye serum didn’t have the instant results I noticed with the gel, but it did seem to brighten my complexion. My double-bagged left eye improved somewhat, don’t you think? Would the results be better if used over time? I hope so! I’ll continue to use the serum and hope to see those bags disappear altogether.
Have you avoided doing a home facial because you’re not sure it will be worth your time? I wasn’t sure what to expect with the mud mask but it seemed to really work to firm up my skin. Give it a go and let me know what you think!
My daughter uses homemade facial treatments & they work for her.
I have been using home made facial products also. I do need something to lessen my pores. Thanks for the suggestion.
I want to try some of that dead sea mud. I heard it was really good. Well either way you look like you had a lot of fun.
It’ does look gooey. I guess if it works we can all do with a little gooey in the name of beauty, eh?
