Disclosure: I received a book for review. Opinions shared are mine.
When I read the title of this book, I expected Hope in 60 Seconds to be a devotional of very brief messages for each day. Instead, this is a memoir, author Cristina Baker’s story of incredible perseverance and strength. It will shake you to the very core! (I also love the title…you know, because SAVINGS in Seconds.)
One thing that stands out to me in this book is the power of connection. Cristina shares many of her life experiences, and it was often one or two moments of connection that really stood out as life changing each time. Whether it was her son, her husband, or a coworker, there were many people in Cristina’s life who reached out and took the time to connect with her. That meant a lot to me, because it’s something I often forget to do. I think of doing it or saying the words, but then life gets in the way. I love that Cristina is using her prayers and influence to connect others to Jesus!
You can’t read this book without feeling Cristina’s enthusiasm. Her passion for Christ is contagious! I think this book would be so meaningful to a new believer, or even someone who is unsure about their faith. Cristina’s message is the epitome of hope. I smiled so many times just thinking about how God worked in her life, and how many lives she has impacted in return!
