Disclosure: I received a copy of this book for review. Opinions shared are mine.
I’ve long wanted to read a Toni Shiloh book, so I was excited to get the chance with In Search of a Prince. This book takes place primarily in Africa, which was a new setting for me. I enjoyed it very much!
I immediately related to Brielle because she was a middle school social studies teacher. Her relationship with her mom and best friend added a depth of sweetness to the story. Right away, we get drawn into the drama of Bri’s father, who passed away before she ever got to know him. I had a hard time understanding why her mother kept this information from her (especially under the circumstances) but Brielle seemed to get over it quickly.
Though some readers might enjoy the length of this novel, I felt it was far too long. Instead, I would have enjoyed it in installments. It would have made a good trilogy. So much was packed in a few short weeks of Brielle’s incredible life change. I wasn’t really convinced by the romance aspect of the story. Even though she was in search of a prince, the book revolved mostly around Brielle’s unusual life situation.
