I read this in one sitting the night before it needed to be returned to the library. I went into the book knowing nothing about it, but picking it up off the New Release shelf because Lisa Jewell! It was okay, but I wish I’d gone to bed earlier instead. |
This felt like more of a neighborhood drama than a thriller. It’s about being suspicious of neighbors, spouses, and basically everyone else. Most of the narrative is centered on following around Cate trying to find evidence for her intuition, while also telling herself how ridiculous she’s being. The best parts of the book were the sweet kitten Angelo and uncle Aaron.
Though this wasn’t my favorite Lisa Jewell book, it was worth the read. I’ll still be checking out the next book from this author.
I have a copy of this lying around. Now I know that I don’t need to hurry to read it
