It’s a rainy morning here in east Tennessee. The mountains are starting to look amazing with changing leaves and smoky clouds. I got up before the rest of my crew to take care of my gray roots. That’s the thing I love most about home hair color — I can do it in my pajamas and yesterday’s makeup while no one else is awake! Also, so that my cat can look at me with this face when he sees the shower cap on my head.

The last time I touched up my roots was in early August, remember? As the color fades, it leaves behind a sheen that looks like highlights. I get compliments on it all the time! Crazy but hey, I’ll take it.

I just got my hair cut yesterday, so the container of color was way too generous for my needs. At least half of the hair color was left in the bottle. I wish I could save the rest. I’d love to see Madison Reed offer smaller “servings” for shorter hair!
