One of the best ways to save money is one that many forget….. take advantage of your local public library! You might be surprised by the programs and perks it offers. When you do, be sure to sign up for the 2023 Library Love Challenge and enter to win prizes.

The goal of this challenge is to support your local library. I also think it’s great to bring awareness to the programs offered by the library. We used to go to the library often when my kids were small, but we rarely visit the actual building anymore. I love to use the Libby and Hoopla apps for books and audiobooks. I’ve been told that you can even borrow movies online, though I haven’t tried it. We have checked out DVDs from the library in the past.

The last time I went to the library building (over the summer sometime?) I checked out some Nintendo Switch games that my kids had on their wishlists. They played those games and returned them within a week, no money spent. While we were there, I also checked out the “Discard” tables and bought a few books for 30-cents each. I read them, then traded them online for other books.
