At the end of the school year, we had a fun day at work when we reveal our identities to our secret pals.  My secret pal was a sweet girl who gifted me with a gift certificate to LUX Nail Spa and Salon in Kingsport, TN .  I had seen the new salon in the Starbucks shopping center but hadn’t yet visited.  When my dear mother in law came for a visit for Memorial Day weekend, she offered to keep the kids so all of us mommies and daddies could go out for a date night.  Our husbands wimped out on us, but my sister in law and I decided to go get pedicures.  Lovely way to spend an afternoon, right? 

When we walked into LUX we immediately stopped in our tracks.  It was beautifully decorated at the entrance, with a strikingly opulent chandelier hanging right in the middle of the spa. There are plenty of chairs so that they’re not likely to get too backed up.  Even if you have to wait a while to get the pedicure, you’ll be able to sit in a chair and enjoy a  relaxing foot soak in a massage chair.

We loved the littler pink chairs meant for the smaller divas.  There were also party rooms off to the side (with a great view of the river, I might add) for bridal parties and other fun times.  The sinks were so pretty and modern.  The man who did my pedicure was very sweet and packaged up my foot file so I could take it home with me.

When it was time to go, I finished up earlier than my sister.  I took the opportunity to treat her to the pedicure so we could both enjoy a freebie that day!  It was really fun and I can’t wait to go back.  To keep my heels soft in between pedicures, I’ve been using the textured sponge I got in the July Beauty Box 5 box.  It’s done a great job of softening even my roughest patches.  I gave my daughter the pink gloss since she didn’t get to go with us on the spa trip.
