This week, my son got to watch much more than his usual allotment of television. My daughter went off to a summer camp with her cousin, so the house was pretty quiet.  It also meant that my little guy got to have his pick of television shows with no one else to share the remote!  We had this great assortment of NCircle DVDs to review, so he got to have some extra special time with his pals Dino Dan and the Octonauts. Thanks to NCircle Entertainment for sending us these DVDs.

Here are the DVDs we enjoyed this week. Just click on the link to get to the buy-page!

Dino Dan DVD - #giveaway savingsinseconds.com

Dino Dan: Swimming With Dinosaurs (SRP $9.99)

Dino Dan fans, it’s time to join Trek and learn about some of the coolest dinosaurs yet! Dive into dino adventures in the water with your favorite junior dinosaur expert on the new DVD Swimming with Dinosaurs.  My son loves to swim, so this is especially up his alley.  It was really interesting to learn about some of the aquatic dinosaurs, because those aren’t the most commonly found dinos on most shows.

Sid the Science Kid #giveaway savingsinseconds.com Sid the Science Kid: Encyclopedia of Discovery (SRP $9.99)

Sid the Science Kid inspires children to ask questions about how the world works, embracing every child’s natural passion for fun and discovery.  Explore 26 exciting topics with Sid and is friends in this Encyclopedia of Discovery!  That means 26 new mini-episodes!  My children are kind of shy about liking Sid, because he is a preschooler and all, but you’ve gotta admit that he’s a cool kid.  Each little sequence is just a few minutes long, so this is great to play when you’re really a stickler on time-allotment for TV.

The Cat in the Hat #giveaway - savingsinseconds.com

Cat in the Hat: Discover & Investigate (SRP $14.99)

Discover and investigate with the Cat in the Hat, Sally, and Nick as they are whisked off on extraordinary voyages of scientific discovery.  Hop on the thinga-ma-jigger and let’s explore!  This DVD is Season 1, Volume 2. I like the back of the DVD sleeve, which highlights the science concepts covered in each episode. Of the four DVDs we received, this show is my least favorite so we didn’t watch all of the episodes. I find The Cat to be a bit much for my nerves.

Octonauts #giveaway - savingsinseconds.com Octonauts: Crocodiles & Crabs (SRP $9.99)

These little creatures are so unusual, you can’t help but love them.  With this DVD, your kids can join the Octonauts above and below the waves. The Octonauts rescue a gigantic saltwater crocodile, learn about hermit crabs and their shells, and explore a sunken pirate ship with slime eels.  My favorite episode is the one about the fiddler crab!  The little facts at the end of the episode keep things realistic.  This is a really cute DVD that does a good job of balancing entertainment with science.
