It feels like fall hit all at once here. Last week the temperatures were in the 70s, and now we’re getting freeze warnings! The afternoons are still pretty warm, so we’ve been dressing in warm layers for the morning. Mountbeyond sent me this adorable striped shirt that I absolutely LOVE. Listening to audiobooks helps me to get to some of the books on my ever-growing TBR list. Audiobooks aren’t my first choice of reading methods, but it does enable me to multitask. I’ve been comparing my TBR list to the books available at the public library, which is how I ended up listening to The Vanishing Season this weekend.

What do you love about Thanksgiving? I enjoy having time with my family. As my kids get older, I realize what people meant when they said “It goes by so fast.” When the kids were younger, it felt like every day was a struggle to get through. I was always so tired! These days, I’m still tired, but I can enjoy these moments with my children. When we have days off, my daughter and I like to watch shows together. Right now we’re finishing Criminal Minds. No one thinks a thing about wearing leggings under dresses, especially in the winter. When warm weather hits, though, what’s a girl to do? Adults can wear shorts under dresses just like they used to do when hanging from the monkey bars on the playground!

Taking leftovers for lunch is a great way to save money and reduce waste. I’ve been doing this for years; it wasn’t an adjustment for me since my mom always took leftovers for her lunch. Somehow I’ve accumulated a treasure trove of bowls, yet few of them have their matching lids. Likewise, none of the lids floating around my kitchen seem to have coordinating bowls. Shew! I don’t like using single-use plastic wrap unless I’m in a pinch.Silicone stretch lids might just save my sanity.

We don’t spend a lot of time trick-or-treating on Halloween because *shocker* my kids don’t really eat a lot of candy. Now, mashed potatoes — we can put it away. But candy tends to go to waste around here. My husband wants to hand out the Welch’s Fruit Snacks we received, but NO WAY, MAN. We’re going to eat those!
