I’m a closet Kindle user #SPOOKtacularHop

Once upon a time, I had a Kindle. At some point during our move 5 years ago, the Kindle went missing and I’ve never recovered it. In the meantime, my husband continued to grumble about the hundreds of books that share our home. I was reading ebooks on my phone occasionally, but it took me forever to get through them. That all changed a few months ago when my dear sister gave me a Kindle. For a long time, I was a closet Kindle user. Though I still profess an undying love for print books, it’s impossible to deny the benefits of electronic books. The Kindle makes it so easy to read anytime, anywhere. I don’t have Kindle Unlimited but it’s never been a problem since there are so many free ebooks available.I don’t usually purchase them; however, I made an exception for these recent downloads.

Buying a fragrance for teens #sponsored #wildspiritfragrances

Disclosure: I received free product samples. Opinions shared are mine.

Gift-giving is hard enough, but when the recipient is a teen, you might feel overwhelmed by the idea of finding the right gift. Most of the teens I know are inexplicably vague when they’re asked what they want for any given occasion. When the gift is presented, though, there was clearly an expectation (and usually, it hasn’t been met.) A scented product has the potential to be a hit, but there are some ways to ensure success with this route. Take heart, parent or well-intentioned aunt! We’ve got you covered with these ideas.

Well, I didn’t intend for that to happen. By that, I mean sitting down and reading this entire book in one go.

After finishing The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell, I had to sit in silence for a few minutes. It was a darkly entertaining book — disturbing in a Flowers in the Attic kind of way, yet so twisted that I had to keep reading to find out how it ended!

Take an RFID Blocking Wallet with you

We hear it on the news all the time — identity thieves and credit card scammers find new ways to steal from us daily. At the very least, it’s a major inconvenience when someone hacks your account. Worst case scenario, it could bring you to your financial knees. It happened to me in the spring. The card charges were covered by the bank, but it was a hassle. It also left me feeling vulnerable and violated. Hoping to avoid this problem in the future, I switched to an RFID blocking wallet.

Friday Night Lights mean a Blanket Party

Football season starts out HOT in east Tennessee. The first few games were blazing, prompting us to sit in the shade and wait until the sun went down before we finally went to our own row. The weather is starting to cool down this week, even if it’s just a few degrees, and it’s going to be wonderful on Friday nights! My son loves to take a blanket to the football game. This year, our new Spiderman blanket will be the hit of the blanket party.

Sparkling things make me happy.

You’ve seen my other posts about rings. I love the sparkle of a fiery stone, and Cubic Zirconia can’t be beat when it comes to affordable bling! If you’re like me and enjoy treating yourself to a new ring that doesn’t cost a fortune, have you considered stainless steel rings for your jewelry box?

Thunder Trucks #giveaway

There was a time when plastic monster trucks, cranes, and tractors littered my floor all over the house. Those days are gone now, and I really do miss them as much as people told me I would. Kids grow up so quickly! If you have a sweet little one at home, enjoy their energy and find books that appeal to their interests. Thunder Trucks is adorable!

Anyone else planning to go to the Downton Abbey movie this weekend? I can’t wait! Remember the scene where Jimmy tried to open the jar and ended up dropping it on the kitchen floor? He should have tried this jar opener.
