As we head into the busy back-to-school season, it’s time to start planning for a terrific, successful school year. Both of my kids use a planner to keep track of assignments, upcoming project deadlines, and other important details. I strongly believe in teaching students how to use a planner to organize key information. The first step is finding an academic planner that works for each child.

The Two Lila Bennetts by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book thanks to the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

I find the idea of a parallel universe just fascinating. The Two Lila Bennetts explores a similar idea — one character with two distinct story lines. It’s reminiscent of the movie Sliding Doors with a darker twist. While I think the duality of the story is easier to understand on-screen, it was interesting to see this take. Authors Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke pulled it off in spectacular fashion!

I’m sorry for posting this a few minutes late! Pretty bad when I’m the hop host, I know, but it couldn’t be helped. We just got home from a trip to visit my family in Kentucky. What a wonderful trip. I spent the last 2 days with my grandmother who broke her hip a few weeks ago. She was still hobbling with the use of a walker, but her spry spirit hasn’t changed. She challenged us to a game of Super Scrabble. Did you know that even existed?! My grandma is the Scrabble Queen — truly unbelievable at this game! She should really win an award for her skills.
