The Pink Bonnet by Liz Tolsma #ThePinkBonnet #NetGalley

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

The True Colors series has so much potential! It’s a great option for readers who enjoy clean stories (no profanity or graphic bedroom scenes) but suspense. I read many thrillers, so this series is exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, taking out some of the more “mature” stuff also seems to take away some of the depth. At least, that’s how I felt about The Pink Bonnet by Liz Tolsma.

The kids and I just got back from a fun vacation to the Bahamas (our first cruise!) and Universal Studios Orlando. We had such a great time, although we were sad that the hubs didn’t go along with us. Returning home meant catching up on laundry, cooking meals again, and adjusting to the significantly lower temperatures. Florida was HOT last week! When I received these bamboo sheets from Linenly, I almost felt like I was back on vacation. Even my cat was charmed!

Heart & Home by Victoria Duerstock from Abingdon Press

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

I’ve always wanted to have the kind of house where friends could just stop by without calling first, but that’s not how it turned out. We live in a small house with a lot of stuff. It takes a concerted effort by all family members to get this house cleaned up for guests. I feel super embarrassed about it, but am just so overwhelmed by the clutter and lack of space! When I received Heart & Home by Victoria Duerstock, I spent several minutes gazing at the beautiful photos (and, I’ll admit, harboring some jealousy) of those gorgeous spaces.

To all of the graduates out there — congratulations!

Graduation is a milestone like no other. You’ve worked so hard for the completion of your coursework, and now it’s time to celebrate. Don’t worry if you feel a bit swallowed up in the whole thing, though. It’s a day filled with excitement, relief, and trepidation. We have two nieces and several friends’ children who graduated this spring. It’s such a blessing to see these young people grow up to become amazing people!

Living Lies by Natalie Walters — small town suspense @RevellBooks #LivingLies #NetGalley

Disclosure: I received a complimentary book from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

I used to participate in the Revell Books blogger program, through which I received monthly books to review. It’s been a while since I stopped working with them (the books were all gone by the time I could request one) so it’s been months since I read one of their titles. It was a pleasant surprise to see that Living Lies by Natalie Walters is a Revell book. I really enjoy suspense, and this one delivered. It’s a great summer read!

WOW. It’s been a while since a book caught me so completely off guard. I didn’t read anything about My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing before it was in my hands, and now I’m so glad. Not knowing was an important first step to the surprises that lay in store!

Ways to get free gift cards

It used to be easy to earn free gift cards by doing surveys or collecting points through Swagbucks and MyPoints. These days, you can still find ways to get those freebies but it might take a little more creativity! I tend to hoard my gift cards in a little zippered pouch and use them when we’re trying to stick close to a budget. The treat is even more special when I’ve been limiting myself!

Visit the Father’s Day gift shop on Amazon

My husband is easy to please when it comes to gifts.  He appreciates having new socks, a blue tie, or a blue shirt.  Simple to do, right?  Sometimes, though, he mentions that he’d like to have this or that…and I love to surprise him with it on his birthday or Father’s Day!  Amazon makes it easy for me to give a great gift with very little stress.
