Ovation Brands’ ABCs Family Night

Disclosure: I will receive meal passes for posting. Opinions shared are mine.

We have a routine in our family.  When we have the opportunity to go out to eat, we take turns choosing a restaurant.  Sometimes the kids are at odds about each other’s choices.  We never argue about Ryan’s, though!

The White City by Grace Hitchcock #TheWhiteCity #NetGalley

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

My sister is the one who told me about H. H. Holmes.  She grew up in a house that was quite near one that he once lived in.  When I had the chance to read The White City, it made me nervous and a bit scared since I had an inkling of the story’s plot.

It should be known that I typically avoid books where bad things happen to kids.  My role as a mom and teacher means that I spend my every waking moment trying to protect the children in my care.  Where The Missing Go sent shivers up my spine from beginning to end!

FRIENDS cookbook – The One With All The Recipes

Disclosure: I received free products; opinions shared are mine.

During my college years, we used to sit in one of the dorm lobbies and watch Friends every week.  We stacked chairs on the tables and made our own theater, enjoying every episode and dreaming of coffee at Central Perk.  Twenty years later, one of the very best things about having a teenage daughter is getting to watch Friends reruns with her!  When Ulysses Press sent me the Friends cookbook, I knew she would dog-ear half the pages.

What They Didn’t Teach You in Spanish Class by Juan Caballero @UlyssesPress

Disclosure: I received a free book; opinions shared are mine.

In my first year of teaching 6th grade, I was assigned 3 different levels of math classes and 1 period of introductory Spanish.  Since the middle school foreign language program was brand new, I was able to plan the curriculum myself.  It was a blast!  I loved teaching the basics to those eager students.  They learned the alphabet, colors, numbers, seasons, and other vocabulary.   Any slang phrases I taught were innocent and simple.  Ulysses Press offers an adult version for those who want to know What They Didn’t Teach You In Spanish Class!

Wrap Buddies makes it easier to wrap Gift Closet items

Disclosure: I received a free sample. Post contains affiliate links; I may earn commission if you make a purchase. Opinions shared are mine.

Martha Stewart and I could never be friends in real life because I hate wrapping gifts.  It’s not a pretty sight; I end up fumbling with the wrapping paper roll while trying to find the scissors (which are taped to the bottom of the wrapping paper roll.)  I love the look of a crisply folded edge of wrapping paper, but a gift bag is just so much easier.  Sound familiar?   Little did I know that I needed a Wrap Buddies intervention!

Sonic Boom DVD + Sonic Mania Plus video game US

Disclosure: I received the DVD thanks to NCircle Entertainment. Opinions shared are mine.

My kids love the Sonic cartoons.  Having a DVD means we can also watch this favorite show on the go!  With summer coming up, Sonic Boom — “Here Comes the Boom” — is the perfect take-along for a road trip.

It’s a Sonic you haven’t seen before – an ensemble comedy that pokes fun at action-adventure storytelling, but still manages to deliver plenty of adrenaline! Wherever he goes and whatever he’s up against, Sonic is aided by his sidekick, Tails, and his friends Knuckles, Amy, and Sticks and, of course, attacked by his arch nemesis, Dr. Eggman.
