In the past few years, I’ve put off the gift wrapping until the night before Christmas.  The whole ordeal of cutting, taping, and sticking on a plain gift tag just felt like a chore.  Oh, but then the Epson Printable Ribbon Kit came into my life.  What fun!  This handy tool has become like a shiny new toy….complete with ribbon.

It took just a few seconds to set up the label maker.  Literally – a few seconds.   I merely popped in the batteries (you could also use the plug), loaded the enclosed ribbon cartridge, and got started.    I typed the message for the first ribbon, and changed the last word for subsequent printings.  I also changed the special characters – snowman for my son, snowflake for my daughter. The ribbons were finished in just seconds, ready to tie on and go!

I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out how to change the type color after I switched the ribbon from cream to navy.  Finally, I just clicked print and hoped that the black would show up. To my surprise, the printer somehow knew that the ribbon was dark – and it automatically changed the type to gold.  It’s absolutely gorgeous against the navy ribbon!   I love that each child will have their own personalized ribbons on each gift.   Pretty sure my husband got sick of my glee after each time I printed, though!  It was such a ridiculous thrill to push the little “cut” button and watch my perfectly sheared ribbon come right off.

There are so many projects that you could do with this label maker.  Hair bows, crafts, and ornaments beckon!   Be warned, though. Make sure your gift closet is stocked, because you’re likely to want to buy new gifts just so you can create more labels.   Speaking from experience, of course!

This is awesome. I am the worst at bows and stuff and am right there with you on waiting until Christmas eve to wrap and stuff. This would really save time and make life easier.

Tis is a really fantastic idea and there are so many uses for it. I really hate trying to make my gift wrap pretty and unique, this would do the trick.
