Thanks to Happy Little Plants Protein Puffs for partnering with me on this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

If you started the new year with a plan to eat more plant-based foods, have I got a treat for you! Check out the HORMEL® HAPPY LITTLE PLANTS™ Protein Puffs flavors. They come in a convenient 150-calorie bag, yet they pack a big protein punch with 16g per serving! I purchased the variety pack which contains 3 flavors — cinnamon sugar, nacho cheese, and ranch.

Teaching during the pandemic, I find myself working for several hours at a stretch at my computer without having a moment’s break. It’s unbelievable how fast the time goes; between answering messages, meetings, and doing live sessions with my students, I rarely take the time for lunch. A quick snack at my computer is usually my only option. I’m taking some of the protein puffs to stash in my desk for those crazy days!

Usually I go for salty and savory over sweet, but with the protein puffs I prefer cinnamon sugar. The texture reminds me of dry cereal, so they’re easy to pop in my mouth and go about my day. Flavor wise, they taste like the cinnamon twists I usually get at Taco Bell. It’s almost like tricking myself into thinking that I get to eat junk food!

There are other things to love about protein puffs, too. They’re gluten-free and have no preservatives. My favorite detail, though, is that they’re non-GMO. This is important to me. In my garden, I try to purchase only non-GMO seeds.

Which flavor would you like to try?
