Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book for the tour. Opinions shared are mine.
I’ve always liked the name Daisy. In this book, our Daisy has a sweet temperament with some sassy comebacks. Though she’s been dealt some tough cards in her life, she was blessed to have an adopted family who loves her. The aunts and her best friend, Vincent, were adorable characters! The mystery of Daisy’s birth and other strange life experiences fueled this story. I liked the way author Rebecca Trogner linked the clues to lead to a satisfying closure. Lots of secrets surrounded Daisy, and it was a fun ride to see where it would all end.
You guys know that I’m a kind of prudish reader, and this book contained several seriously grown-up scenes. I was blushing 50 shades of red and skipped over those parts. Those moments didn’t seem to really mesh with the rest of the story (and I didn’t feel like they were necessary to Daisy’s character development) but, you know, sex sells. Other than those scenes, this book has high ratings with me.

On a sweltering summer day, Daisy Aldridge knocks on the wrong door. She’s yanked inside. Trapped and pressed against her only means of escape she spirals into a panic. Years ago she suffered an assault. Alone and afraid, she kept it hidden and dealt with the emotional aftermath in her own way.
But this time she’s not alone. She’s helped by a man who seems vaguely familiar. Roy Blackwood is gorgeous, powerful, and controlled. She tells herself she wants nothing to do with him.
Roy sees through her resistance and is determined to unravel the mysteries of Daisy. He promises to find the identity of her birth parents and unveil the person who leaves her anonymous gifts. And most important of all, earn the love and trust of Daisy Aldridge.
