I love it when technology becomes an educational tool! In the new Egermeier’s Interactive Story Bible, kids can learn many Bible basics in a fun, interactive way. Find it here: https://www.warnerpress.org/story-bible/
Though this is titled “Story Bible,” it’s more of a Bible story collection. Like a traditional Bible, this one presents the Bible’s stories in chronological order; however, they’re not featured in traditional Bible verse form. They’re written in child-friendly vocabulary to make it easier for young readers (ages 8 and up) to understand. I would consider as a supplement, not a replacement to, an actual Bible.
After each story, you’ll find comprehension questions that are so helpful in checking to see if the reader remembers what they read. Some of the questions are application-related, which helps the reader apply the Bible story to their lives.
My favorite feature, though, is the QR code video. By scanning the codes, kids can see and hear a video that corresponds to the story they read. This is one more way to interact with the scripture and make it come to life.
I’d like to point out that the stories in the Egermeier’s Interactive Story Bible are fairly short. Most are only about one page each, which makes them perfect for bedtime or devotion time reading.
Although this Story Bible is geared toward young readers, I think it’s perfect even for teens who need to brush up on basics from the Bible. I plan to read these with my son so he can become familiar with some of the lesser known stories such as the Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids from Matthew 25: 1-13. I plan to start with the New Testament, since he’ll likely recognize some of those stories, then back up and go to the Old Testament.
