I’ve read a couple of books in this series, and love how they are standalone while keeping some of the same characters. This one was excellent — very well plotted and paced. It was a one-day read for me because I just couldn’t put it down, I carried it with me and read it while we spent the day at an amusement park!

The main character Kate has such a spunky personality. She is tough and determined, but in The Hidden One we get to see her softer side, too, which I really liked. The “mystery” was not predictable. I only started figuring it out about halfway through the book, and still didn’t totally land on it until the final reveal. Can’t wait til the next one. Until then, I think I need to go back and start at the beginning of the series!
