At the Savings in Seconds home, our pets are the furry delights that make our house cozy. I’m pretty sure one of our cats moonlights at a neighbor’s house during the week because he is very chunky, even though we’ve tried to put him on a diet. He looks a lot like Pusheen, actually. Our other cat is doesn’t travel far from home, but he’s such a fluffy baby. Here are some of our cats’ favorite items!
Salmon Oil
A few months ago, TerraMax sent me a bottle of salmon oil for my pets. At the time of the review, I hadn’t given any to my cat. After Thanksgiving, my cat had a terrible spell where we thought we were going to lose him. He yowled every time he walked, wouldn’t jump, and couldn’t seem to get comfortable. After several tests and X-rays at the vet, we learned that his spine was damaged when he was very young (we expected this, since he has a tail stub and walks with an odd gait.) The vet said there isn’t anything to do except give him pain medicine, which would likely upset his stomach.
We were devastated every time the poor cat expressed his discomfort. Out of desperation, I drizzled salmon oil on top of his food. He was hesitant to eat it at first; now he won’t eat unless it’s there. I noticed a difference in him after about 3 days. He started jumping again, and his endearing loud purr was back! As a bonus, I even saw improvement in his coat. I’m so grateful that this worked for him, and will continue to buy it for my pets.
Warming Mat
When one of the cats started showing signs of arthritis, I purchased this self-warming mat to help with his achy bones. He absolutely LOVES it and goes straight to it when he’s ready for a nap! Our dog was fighting him for it, so we bought one for her bed, too. My husband asked me to order one for a friend. We are big fans of this mat! When I ordered it, I also ordered a plug-in electric heating mat. The cat won’t go near that one. As you can see from the photo above, he’s firmly planted on his soft little pad.
The Amazon Box
If you haven’t noticed, cats and toddlers have a lot in common. They really love boxes! Our cats enjoy playing with the Amazon box anytime there is an empty one. They hide behind it, jump into, and even take a nap in it.
I like how your cats are taken care of well. Never used the Salmon oil, I think it’s something I would like to try on mine.
I wish I’d known about this warming mat for my senior cat! He did benefit from salmon oil a TON! Running and jumping around like new after a few days just like yours. I’ll have to get a mat for my 11 year old dog.
