I have a “Happy Thoughts” folder at work. It contains kind notes from students and friends. When I have a tough day in the classroom with a challenging student or difficult parent, those notes keep me going. Everyone needs to feel appreciated and valued. This year, I plan to start a new Thanksgiving tradition to spread that kind of joy to others. Thank you cards are a simple way to brighten someone’s day!
Service Providers
Think of the people in your life who provide you with a service. Hair stylists, mail carriers, waste collections….these employees make our lives better. Don’t wait until Christmas to give them a little word of thanks.
Coaches
A coach is a special type of person. It’s more than teaching someone how to win. Coaching requires a lot of energy and passion. It’s about sharing the love of a sport, a musical instrument, or an intellectual skill. Take a few moments to have your child write a thank you note — encourage him to identify something the coach really helped with.
Bus Drivers
I cannot imagine driving a school bus. That’s a huge responsibility. My own kids distract me when they’re in the car together; having dozens of kids behind me would make me a nervous wreck. If you have children who ride the school bus, write the driver a note of thanks.
I’m sure there are a lot of people who deserve a thank-you card!
This is such a great idea! It is definitely something that would brighten anyone’s day. 🙂
