National Geographic is known for their amazing photography and unsurpassed educational content. Likewise, National Geographic Kids Weird But True! books hit the mark in terms of quality while being totally kid-friendly.
When my son asked, “Can I have those books?” it just tickled me pink! He prefers nonfiction books, so this is a great option.
I love that National Geographic books are full color and full of interesting content. I spent several minutes reading through them myself. In my language arts class this semester, students are required to read at least one informational text of their choice. These books are a treat for any student, but especially for the reluctant reader. It’s hard to stop reading when you’re excited to learn! The witty headlines and creative content help build kids’ vocabulary, too. Books like this make the reading-writing connection so fun.
Greek mythology is such a naturally engaging topic for kids. This Weird But True! edition is perfect for fans of Rick Riordan’s Lightning Thief series.
For days when your kids want some screen time, offer the Weird But True! app or YouTube channel. It’s great when entertainment is also educational.
Add this collection to a homeschool library or your child’s classroom bookshelf! Consider using one of these books as a birthday card next time your kid needs a gift for a friend’s party.
One lucky reader will win this National Geographic Kids Weird But True!
