Most people are concerned about the allergic reaction they may experience due to indoor pets. At our house, we’re more concerned about our pets’ allergic reactions! Our dog has very sensitive skin that seems to itch all winter long. Once the heat is turned on, she scratches and picks at her coat for weeks. One of the cats tends to do this all the time, but is especially sensitive to bug bites. Between them, we’re always trying to soothe their itchies. I’m excited to see if Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil helps this dilemma.
This bottle is very generously sized, and only 1/2 teaspoon is required for each of my pets. At that rate, the bottle will last for a while! I especially like that it comes with a pump. This makes it so convenient to administer.
The suggested way to administer the oil is via the pet’s food. However, I just put it on a plastic spoon and offered it to my dog, who lapped it right up. She looked at me expectantly, as if to say she didn’t get nearly enough! I don’t think it will be a problem to get her to take this daily. I haven’t tried with the cat yet, but he is pretty easy to get along with. I read in one of the reviews that you can apply it to the cat’s paw and they’ll lick it off, so that’s my backup plan if the spoon thing doesn’t work out.
We haven’t used the oil long enough to see if it makes a difference in the pets’ coats, but I have big hopes. It would be great if the animals were more comfortable during the dry winter months and the itchy summer bug-filled months!
This sounds like a great product. I bet it makes their fur shiny as well.
I think this is super. Salmon oil sounds great for pups
Wow–it’s amazing that dogs simply go for this! It must be good!
My dogs have itchy skin and could use some of this.
My dog has really dry skin in the colder months so this might be good for him.
