Macadamia nut oil in my hair?!

So you probably know by now that I’m really into hair products and tools.  Taking a little extra time on my hair is a luxury that I don’t often get to enjoy.  Recently I had the chance to try the Macadamia Oil product line from Flat Iron Experts.  I tried the shampoo and healing oil treatment.  First of all, the bottles are just beautiful.  I love the shapes of these containers.  I can’t wait to use it all up because I plan to repurpose these into summer vases.  Am I the only one who thinks that way?

When I first sampled the shampoo, I was taken aback by the beautiful sheen of it.  It’s just this gorgeous color of golden cream.  Here’s a little peek for you.  It smells wonderful with the most delicate fragrance. I wish I could send that across the screen to share it with you!

My hair is kind of wild after shampooing, usually, and it takes a while to get it to calm down.  Here’s a picture of my “normal” hair after washing with my regular drugstore shampoo.

Yeah, who wants to tackle that, right?  Well, after using my Macadamia Oil shampoo and just a touch—a tiny smidge—of the oil treatment, here’s the finished product.

My hair was so much smoother and more manageable after using this product. Keep in mind that this style is blow-dried with a paddle brush only — I didn’t need to use the flat iron after using the Macadamia Oil treatment.  Because I used such a small amount, I know that the oil treatment will last a REALLY long time. I’m a frugal mama in most areas of my life, but I’m willing to pay more for great beauty products. This is one that I’ll definitely keep around.  Check back in February, one lucky winner will receive this hair duo too, thanks to the generous folks at Flat Iron Experts!  You can follow FIE on Facebook and Twitter.

Which beauty products are you willing to pay a bit more to use?  I’d love to hear!

My hair too needs some “time to calm down” after a fresh wash. I have never heard anyone but me say it like that before 🙂

Might have to give this stuff a try, as the humidity in Singapore make my hair go all Diana Ross!!

  2. I actually wash my hair with baking soda, and condition with apple cider vinegar. This sounds like something that I would have liked back when I used hair products though.

  3. Looks like a great product. I used to pay more to use the Joico K-Pak products but haven’t for years. Pretty basic routine now.
