Saving time and money drying clothes with Woolzies wool dryer balls

I’m still in love with my new LG dryer.  Since it’s so much bigger than our old one, we tend to load it up with more towels, sheets, or whatever we’re drying.  It does do a super large capacity but it still takes a while to get those heavier items dry.  Using dryer balls has made a huge difference in getting the job done faster.   We have been using 6 Woolzies balls with each load.  I don’t use any fabric softener yet we don’t have problems with static.  The faster the clothes dry, the less electricity that is wasted, so I know I’m also saving money with Woolzies.  IMG-20130107-00523

IMG-20130107-00524 If you’re not familiar with dryer balls, you might wonder why Woolzies are a good choice.  For one thing, they are handmade from New Zealand wool.  I don’t have to worry about the chemicals and plastics that are often found in department store dryer balls.  They are guaranteed to last for at least 1,000 loads of laundry.  That is more than I can say for any bottle of fabric softener!    Our clothes haven’t had any problems with lint or pilling when using Woolzies, either.  When the dryer balls toss around in the dryer, they help to fluff out the clothes so that they are wrinkle-free when I take out the load.  That’s such a huge help.  After all, I don’t want to spend my time ironing either.  It makes me feel good to know that I’m not putting anything toxic in the water supply or adding more fabric softener sheets to the landfill when I’m using Woolzies.

Woolzies come in packs of 6 and can even be gift-wrapped.   Don’t forget to like them on Facebook and Twitter.  One lucky reader will win a set of 6 Woolzies in the “From Our Hearts to Yours” giveaway (Feb. 1-14).

I have never heard of dryer balls, now I’m intrigued! Might just give them a try, thanks for sharing.

  2. I have never heard of this product before. I love environmentally friendly products. They sound wonderful. You said they last for about 1,000 loads of laundry–then what? Can they be recycled?

Good question Sandy! I’m not really sure. I guess I thought that after 1000 uses they’d be disintegrated into nothing. We’ve probably used them for at least 50 loads so far and they still look like new. I’ll check with the sponsor and see what they say!
